Success is born from strong relationships
The nature of our approach means that we can design software applications to support any type of industry. However, we are selective in our engagements, to ensure our work fits within our skillset and the results of high quality. This section will help to explain the kind of clients we work with.
The majority of work we undertaking is with private companies within the UK. Our clients vary in size and industry sector, but are common in their search for software applications that help them serve their clients and improve their internal processes.
At May Stanley, we have years of experience working in boardrooms with our clients, considering their processes, brainstorming and converting their pain to promise with perfectly-fitting applications.
Whatever size of company, be in three people or three-hundred; whether you need an application to help manage your entire firm's data or a support application for an internal department, we are confident that our approach and creativity will add real value to your business.

Over the course of our collective careers, we have worked alongside a number of organisations in the public and healthcare sectors including councils, hospitals and charities. This has culminated in a close understanding of the issues faced when attempting to procure software solutions.
We understand the requirement for such organisations to engage in a rigid tendering process that often leads to the most suitable and best software companies declining to be involved. Equally, those that could really benefit from new software are put-off from beginning the process due to the bureaucratic overhead and uncertainty involved.
At May Stanley, we're sensitive to these issues. Our approach overcomes many of these frustrations by helping to determine exactly what needs to be built before embarking on a tendering process. This leads to more suitable software companies engaging because they can see exactly what is needed. This utltimately means a better deal for the organisation.
We are very passionate about helping those that help others, and would be delighted to help you with your project. Let us come visit and explain how we can help you make your budgets go further.

We love developing new ideas and brainstorming. Finding a credible idea and working to bring it to life is right up our street.
If you have a software application concept, however far developed, that you think could be a hit with a particular target market, we would be interested to hear about it. Alongside our network of software industry people, we are sure that we can help see it become a revenue-generating reality.
We are happy to discuss ways to protect your idea too, so you can be reassured about discussing it with us. Nobody will ever be more passionate about your idea than you, but we'll come a close second.
The first step is for us to qualify your idea. We'll do this by asking a range of qualifying questions and trying to find reasons why we don't think it would work. Playing Devil's Advocate is a crucial step for everyone, to ensure your idea stands up to scrutiny. If it doesn't, we've saved everyone a lot of time and money.
If your idea has potential, we will meet to discuss the framework for taking it forward - each party's involvement, finances and what the end product may look like.
And don't worry if you don't have the financial backing you'd expect to be necessary for making this happen. If we buy into the idea, we have the means and contacts to help.

Having worked within the industry for several years, we've seen all sorts of scenarios where a client asks for a software application to be developed, but for whatever reason, you can't do it. You don't want to say 'no', and you don't want to risk your business by saying 'yes'.
Teaminig up with May Stanley may be the solution. We work alongside software development companies, web designers and other specialists to fill the gap in their capability or resource pool. We can act under your own banner, or as a named, trusted partner.
A summary of our methods
In a nutshell, we provide requirements analysis and solution design services for those in need of a web-based, database-driven application. We build UI prototypes using Axure design tools that can be published online to share with you and the client. We also produce accompanying functional specification documents for developers to work from.
We can adapt our solutions to match your technology and methods. We are happy to liaise with clients directly from the outset to establish their needs, and can continue to act as the go-between during the project to ensure it results in a perfectly developed application in line with your client's needs.
Our typical day rate is £450 + VAT per person, but is negotiable for longer term projects. We are happy to work on a flexible basis to suit your project needs.
It works both ways
Conversely, we also help our own clients to find the right partners to produce the applications we design. This includes development houses, graphic designers, hosting partners, copywriters and marketing companies. As such, we are always looking for companies with which we can establish a mutually beneficial relationship.
